"How to Talk to (K-12) Children About Race and Inclusion"

Dr. "Bowtie" Todd Jenkins

In this episode of the Bowtie Conversation, we discussed the importance of talking to children about race and inclusion. We learned parents are children’s introduction to the world, and educators are facilitators. What they see you do is as important as what they hear you say.

Like language, prejudice is learned over time. In helping your child recognize and confront racial bias, you should first consider your own and many things around the conversation and exposure to inclusion. For this conversation we were joined by an all-star panel of educators and parents: The Franklin Family (Parents and Educators), Mr. Barry White (Popularized as “The Handshake Teacher”), Dr. Isha Metzger (Professor an Clinical Psychologist), and Rian Reed (CEO of Rian Reed & Co.) Please subscribe, listen, and share with others.
